Xemorpheum®  (pronounced Ze-morph-e-um) is a "reality board game" specifically designed to teach Third World business concepts to students and business people in a fun and exciting way.  The game models a Third World Business environment in an ancient coliseum setting in a far off country called Richmania.  Xemorpheum® is a registered trademark of Richard N. Gottbreht, and simply means "coliseum." 

Xemorpheum® was designed for the 13 to adult age group and has three game options that allow it to be played right out of the box as a stand alone game, including a Player's Option where individuals compete against each other without having to contend with Richmanian Devils (game ending cards unique to the advanced version of Xemorpheum®).  Xemorpheum® can also be played in conjunction with facilitated seminars and training sessions.  These seminars and sessions are detailed in the Xemorpheum® Facilitator Guide.

Inside the Xemorpheum® Coliseum, players experience the many challenges international business teams face while operating inside foreign countries.  Whether a player is a student or teacher, or comes from a major corporation, a small business, or something in between, they will discover how unexpected perils and pitfalls from culture, environment, government and Richmania's prison can impact their company's ability to succeed.  More importantly, the game clearly illustrates that players can win in corrupt business environments without engaging in illegal activities.  Through game play, Xemorpheum® teaches players survival fundamentals and allows them to take different approaches to the game as they try to move quickly, manage cash and deal with the many and varied kinds of Richmanian Devils hiding in the Xemorpheum® Coliseum.

Xemorpheum® comes with an instructional DVD and is played by two to seven players who compete against each other by rolling dice, moving around a coliseum track, drawing cards and paying crossing fees to other players or to the treasury.  Players increase their chance of winning by amassing cash, building factories and training arenas, and assembling armies. To win, one player must avoid sudden death bankruptcy and gather more wealth and power than other players while surviving the myriad of hazards, traps and pitfalls inherent in the game's unique playing environment, which is based on the actual Third World international business experience of the game's designers and discussed in the book "Corruption Arts in Third World International Business: Traps, Swizzles and Swindles Used by the Master Players" by Rich Gottbreht, ISBN 0-976696-0-5, $34.95.
